WINDOWS

Below you can see a small selection of commissioned stained glass windows. Each piece is individually designed to achieve maximum impact in its final location. Careful consideration is given to the surroundings and how the light will change throughout the day and with the changing seasons.

I have included the cost of these panels as a very rough guide only. Cost varies considerably depending on size, complexity, type and colour of glass used. For example, red and yellow glass is much more expensive than blue and green because gold is used in the colouring process. The cost is fully inclusive of all design, manufacture and installation (depending on location).

These panels are situated in the front door of a house from the arts and crafts period. The customer has two daughters called Poppy and Cicely and wanted to incorporate the flowers in the design of the panels.

6 panels 200 x 320 mm

Cost £425

The client wanted to incorporate the house number in a colourful entranceway that still allowed lots of light into the hallway. The use of strong colours around the edge and texture in the clear glass creates interest without the loss of light.

14 panels set in and above front door

Cost £900

These panels were to provide a focal point in a lounge as well as providing privacy from the neighbouring property. The client had a very specific design in mind which just needed converting into a pattern that would work in stained glass.

110 x 119 cm

Cost £945

960 x 760 mm

Cost £950

This piece is located in a north facing hallway window, providing privacy and a cheerful focal point.

530 x 940 mm

The number on the transom window was created by sandblasting the area around the number on red flashed glass. The textures of the clear baroque glass and the red and amber water glass contrast nicely with the more translucent pale amber restoration glass of the background.

Cost £530

This front door panel incorporates sandblasted ivy leaves with the lead lines forming the vines.

430 x 810 mm

Cost £395

This was a small panel commissioned for a front door. The client was a keen gardener whose favourite flower was a rose.

180 x 300 mm

Cost £90

These two panels came from Alderwasley Hall School in Derbyshire and had been badly damaged. They were also showing signs of lead deterioration and needed cleaning.

The panels were removed and carefully taken apart. Each piece of glass was cleaned and labelled and any broken pieces were replaced before reassembly with new lead. The reinstated panels were restored to their former glory.

This commission was for a panel above the front door in a Victorian terrace. The client wanted a contemporary design with flames as the theme.

380 x 760 mm
Cost £395

This commission shows an example of sandblasted glass elements being incorporated into the design. The second photo shows the beautiful shadow cast on the wall when the sun shone through the panel.

450 x 620 mm

Cost £410
